Once you have placed an order you will automatically receive a confirmation email specifying the item, price and delivery cost. We advise printing this for your future reference.
Our prices (including any taxes) are displayed clearly alongside each product in GBP (£ Sterling) our current delivery charge is added at the checkout. The Royal Mail Special Delivery service is used for all jewellery items, currently priced at £6.95 or £3.50 for Gift Vouchers sent by Royal Mail Recorded Delivery. We will from time to time allow promotional discounts, this will be made clear at the time of ordering within the site and a code will be entered at the checkout to receive this discount.
Print kits are dispatched using Recorded Delivery (signature required on delivery) within 48 (working) hours of placing an order. Jewellery is handmade and dispatched within 14 days of receiving your prints and acknowledgement of our email confirming correct spelling. If for reasons beyond our control we foresee that your order will be later than this time, every effort will be made to contact you, giving you notice. You are fully entitled to cancel your order and receive a full refund should this occur. If jewellery is required for a specific date, please contact us before placing an order to allow us to confirm that we can meet your deadline.
Cancellations & Returns
Orders must be cancelled in writing (by email) within 7 working days of placing an order, we will reply to acknowledge this. If a handprint kit or finger print kit has already been dispatched within this time, we expect you the customer to return it to us, at your own cost using (Royal Mail Recorded Delivery) unused and in its original state. A full refund will be given as soon as possible and within 30 days.
Used or non-returnable kits will be charged at £5.00 per kit to cover costs. A refund will be given as soon as possible and within 30 days, deducting the costs for the non-returned items.
Any names to be included on your piece of jewellery must be written clearly in BLOCK CAPITALS on our order form. Once we have received your print kit, we will confirm your details by email. It is your responsibility to check any spellings on names, dates or other text to be included on your piece of jewellery upon receipt of this email confirmation, Silver Handprints will not accept responsibility thereafter for spelling mistakes. We require you to amend any mistakes at this time or to confirm that everything is correct; work on your jewellery will then commence. At this juncture, your cancellation rights will end as we start to carry out your order. Once the making process has begun it cannot be cancelled as the supply of the goods are custom-made to your own specification and personalised and therefore not resalable.
Silver Paws hold customer satisfaction very highly and our quality control standards are paramount. If upon receipt you find that your jewellery is faulty or does not comply with your order, we require you to email us within 7 days, specifying the problem. We will contact you and ask you to return the jewellery using Royal Mail Special Delivery service (initially at your cost) to allow us to assess, repair or remake. Silver Paws will refund the postage cost for faulty items. We will confirm by email, that we have received your returned jewellery and advise you of the next action.
Distance selling regulations state that items ordered through a website can be returned up to seven days after they were received by the customer, however, bespoke, personalised and made to order items are exempt from this regulation.
Purchases made through the Silver Paws website are conducted via Paypal, we do not have access to your confidential bank or payment details. Paypal will email you directly to confirm the completed transaction after the checkout process.
Dispatch & Delivery
We will email confirmation of dispatch when your jewellery order is complete and has been posted.
All jewellery items are dispatched via Royal Mail using the following services within the UK.
Handprint & fingerprint kits – 1st Class Recorded Delivery* (signed for).
Original completed handprint kits: 1st Class* standard post
Original completed fingerprint kits are parcelled with the fingerprint jewellery*

Jewellery items – Special Delivery (Signed for, tracked, insured & guaranteed by 1pm) price: £6.95.
Gift Vouchers -First Class, Recorded Delivery (Signed for upon delivery) price: £3.50.
All jewellery made by Silver Paws is hand crafted and therefore each item is slightly unique and sizes advertised are approximate. All jump-rings attached to our charms, pendants and key fobs are soldered to increase their safety and security. The parts of the jewellery bearing a handprint, footprint or fingerprint are crafted from 99.9% Fine Silver, before the firing process, this product is in ‘clay’ form. We strive for perfection and polish our jewellery to a high mirror finish shine, however due to the nature of the silver clay product, the surface may not be a totally smooth finish as with other silver jewellery. Fine Silver (999 or 99.9%) is a softer material than Sterling Silver (925 or 92.5%) as it contains a higher silver content, care should be taken when wearing it, we advise referring to our ‘Care for your jewellery’ leaflet supplied with your jewellery. All jewellery supplied by Silver Handprints contains both Fine Silver & sterling silver components. To prolong the shine we recommend the use of a ‘Silver Cloth’ to remove tarnish and restore the shine.
Legal Hallmarking requirements for Silver in the UK applies to items over 7.78g, items below this weight bear our ‘999FS’ stamp to symbolise 99.9% Fine Silver. Items over 7.78g are laser Hallmarked in the Birmingham Assay Office, these will bear a 925 Sterling Silver Hallmark. If you require your jewellery to be hallmarked at the Assay Office, please contact us via email and we will discuss the further costs and extended estimated delivery time.
It is important that you are happy with the hand, foot or paw print that you return to us, we can advise which is the best print for the process if necessary. We give the option of ‘sympathetic editing’ to remove extra’s and smudges or adding missing fingertips etc. Once the handprint or footprint is reduced in size to fit your jewellery, the majority of the lines that you see will also be reduced. Handprints and footprints can be taken from any age, the special wipes are used in maternity hospitals so are safe for use, it is easier to take a print from a sleeping baby and a second pair of adult helping hands are very useful!
Fingerprint impressions cannot be edited so please clearly state on the returned packaging which print you would like us to use, all impressions will be returned to you. Please note that during the firing process of the jewellery the images can by shrink 10%, do not be alarmed if your child’s finger no longer fits into the fingerprint impression of the jewellery! We do not recommend using fingerprints from children under 2 years of age due to reduced definition of print detail.
We reserve the right to take photographs of your finished piece of jewellery and publish them for promotional use on our Silver Handprints website and/or the Silver Handprints Facebook page. We welcome your feedback and comments for your jewellery and our service provided. We will be respectful of special dates if the jewellery is to be a gift. We do not publish ‘In Loving Memory’ jewellery unless we have your specific agreement.
Silver Paws use your contact details solely for our own office use, to update you with progress of your order or for delivery of your finger print or handprint kits, gift vouchers or completed jewellery orders. We do not sell your details to any third party organisations.
